Biden is on the cusp of a midterm that could see Republicans take complete control of the House

Biden ‘gets a bum rap’ for Democrats’ potential poor midterm showing, DCCC chair says

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairwoman said the party is “on the cusp” of a midterm that could see Republicans take complete control of the House.

“Biden gets a bum rap when it comes to his track record but he gets a bum rap when it comes to his track record when it comes to his track record on the Democratic side,” Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairwoman Cheri Bustos said in a statement Sunday.

“In the Senate, where he was vice president and where he served as president, he was the deciding vote on more than 50 bills, including the largest tax cut in American history, the largest infrastructure investment in American history, the most comprehensive immigration reform package of any president, one of the most ambitious spending bills in American history,” she continued.

Biden could bring Democrats even further from the minority party than they are now. The DCCC, along with Bustos, noted that the party has not only made inroads with minority voters, but also African Americans and other voters of color.

“The DCCC is on the cusp of the greatest midterm election win for the party,” Bustos said. “Democrats have gained even more Democratic voters than in 2010, and in the process have also become more diverse and more representative of America today.”

The two-term former vice president touted the Democratic gains of the midterm in Pennsylvania, which she noted has a larger percentage of minority residents by percentage than any other state, with voters splitting their tickets with the Democratic ticket both in gubernatorial and Senate races.

“This year will certainly be a defining moment in American history. A handful of small midterms in recent history have defined the party — in 1974, 1994, and 2010 — but none captured the spirit, the spirit of American government.”

Biden did not mention the race he’s most associated with on the Democratic side, former President Barack Obama, who ran away
